2026 Composition Competition

What a busy and wonderful weekemd! Saturday was our Spring composition competition. Students who want to make their own piece begin this process in April, and they are finalized, decorated and performed for a judge on Saturday. They are also performed at the Spring recital the day after. One winner is chosen from each of the three levels. There were fifteen participants total this year. I so enjoy watching the students connect the dots. From simple rhtyhms to correct stem notation and theory basics to mode mixture - our students learned so much this year. Several students put in extra work - I see this and appreciate yout dedication!
